Who we are

Outset is operated by VNTR LTD. We are the controller of the personal information described here. This notice covers the Outset app and outset.style. For privacy questions or requests, email support@outset.style.

What we use

• Your account: your Apple sign-in identifier, the name and email Apple shares with us (which can be a private relay address), and the profile and style preferences you provide.
• Your wardrobe: imported images and crops, clothing descriptions, saved outfits, wear history, preferences, and generated results. Virtual try-on also uses the face photo and optional body photo you submit.
• Your subscription: an account identifier, product and transaction details, subscription status, and feature usage. Apple processes your payment; we do not receive your card number.
• Location and technical information: locations you save or share for weather and outfit suggestions, travel dates you provide, IP address, app/device details, requests, errors and security records.
• Support: messages and information you choose to send us.

Account information is needed to provide a signed-in wardrobe. Other information depends on the features you choose; withholding it may make the related feature unavailable.

Your photos and device permissions

With your permission, Outset can use your camera or photo library. Library filtering and comparisons used to group photos of the same person run on your device; the face descriptors used for that grouping stay there. Importing clothing sends the relevant images or crops to our services for storage and processing. Face and optional body photos you choose for virtual try-on are uploaded for that feature.

Access to your library does not mean we upload every photo. You can change camera, photo and location access in iOS Settings. Where iCloud Photos is enabled, Apple may retrieve a selected photo to your device.

Why we use it

We use account, wardrobe, subscription and requested processing data to provide our contract with you. This includes organising clothes, creating suggestions and images, and verifying access. We use necessary technical and support information for our legitimate interests in keeping Outset reliable, answering questions and preventing fraud or abuse. We also process records where needed to meet legal obligations.

Optional permissions let you choose device features. Where processing relies on consent, you may withdraw it. Automated suggestions reflect your wardrobe and preferences; you choose whether to use them.

The services that help Outset work

We share relevant information with these providers to operate the features below:

Apple

Sign-in, App Store purchases, device services and WeatherKit forecasts. Weather requests use the location needed for the forecast.

OpenAI · Google Gemini

Clothing analysis, outfit suggestions and image generation. These features send the relevant images, descriptions, preferences and instructions for processing.

Replicate

Image processing, including removing backgrounds from clothing and generated images.

RevenueCat · Superwall

Subscription verification and paywalls, using account identifiers, purchase status, app/device information and related interactions.

Railway · Cloudflare

Backend/database hosting, image storage, and network and security services.

ipapi.co · Open-Meteo

Approximate location from an IP address, and city lookup from a search query, when the relevant location feature is used.

Vercel

Hosting this website. Serving pages involves ordinary request data such as IP address, browser information, URL and time of access.

Providers may retain information for their operational, safety or legal requirements. We may also disclose information where legally required, to protect people or the service, or in connection with a business transfer subject to applicable protections.

How long we keep it

We keep your account and saved wardrobe content while needed to provide the service. Processing and recovery information is kept for the time needed to finish requests, reconcile purchases, handle failures and prevent duplicate work. Security, support and legal records may be retained longer where needed to investigate abuse, resolve disputes or meet an obligation.

You can request account deletion in the app or contact us. This stops ordinary account activity and starts removal of associated content. Removal is a process, not instant erasure from every system; limited records may remain for the reasons above, and providers have their own retention requirements. Contact us about the period applying to particular information. Deleting your account does not cancel an Apple subscription.

Where information is processed

Our primary app database and image storage are in the United States. Our providers may process information in other countries too, where data-protection rules can differ from those where you live. Contact us for details of the locations and transfer safeguards relevant to your information.

Your choices and rights

Depending on your circumstances and applicable law, you can ask to access, correct, delete or receive a portable copy of your information, restrict its use, or object to processing based on legitimate interests. You can withdraw consent where we rely on it. Email support@outset.style; we may ask for information to verify your identity.

You can complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office or your local data-protection authority. Please contact us too so we can address your concern.

This website and changes

We do not add analytics scripts, advertising trackers or cookies to this website. Vercel and Cloudflare may process request and security information to serve and protect it. Links to other websites are covered by those sites’ notices.

We may update this notice as Outset changes. We will communicate material changes as required. The date at the top identifies this version.
